SBT 01

Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing with Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings

Stage 1 : (Onshore Test Centre based)

ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL SMALL BORE TUBING WITH TWIN FERRULE MECHANICAL GRIP FITTINGS

ECITB Small Bore Tubing (SBT01) Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing with Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings.

This two day course provides delegates with the training required to demonstrate knowledge and practical skills of working with small bore tubing systems. This training course is designed for personnel undertaking operations on small bore tubing assemblies and systems using twin ferrule, mechanical grip fittings across all industries. Delegates will complete a knowledge test and practical exercises.

This course is preparation for the ECITB Technical Tests TSBT01 & TSBT02

This 2 day Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings course is aimed at learners with no previous small bore tubing training but can equally be undertaken by those with previous training or experience.

Minimum estimated trainer to learner contact time 12 hours, minimum of 5 practical exercises:

  • Exercise 1 will be assembling 4 manufacturer fittings - Swagelok, A-Lok, Gyrolok, Ringlok  (Typically).
  • Exercise 2 will be assemble Twin Ferrule fitting, disassemble and remake.
  • Exercise 3 will be marking out, cutting, preparation, basic tube bending exercise.
  • Exercise 4 will be marking out, cutting, preparation, tube bending exercise including rolled offset.
  • Exercise 5 will be fabricate, install, support and clamp tube assembly, then pressure test by the trainer. This exercise will also have NPT taper and parallel fittings.


Delegates completing an ECITB SBT01 - Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing with Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings training course will be able to:

  • Work safely and minimise risk at all times
  • Plan and configure small bore tubing assemblies
  • Understand relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures
  • Understand the terminology, techniques and practices for planning and configuring small bore tubing assembly

This two day course provides delegates with the training required to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills of working with small bore tubing systems. This course is preparation for the ECITB Technical Tests TSBT01 & TSBT02.
